Taken during The Mindful Eye workshop in Savannah.
The shots I've posted before this one were of a typical style for me. From here on, I'm hoping that folks will notice a difference as I start to push the boundaries a little bit.

[...]One of the few shots I took with my 200 f/2.8 prime during the The Mindful Eye workshop in Savannah.
[...]Shot with a Lensbaby in Savannah at f/4. The lensbaby doesn't have an electronically-controllable aperture, which is why that's missing from the EXIF info.
' [...]Jake, in awe of some cool aircraft or other. And as promised, the rest of the series are now on FlickR. [...]
From the 2009 inauguration of President Obama: a friend and I strolled downtown to observe the crowd more than anything else.
I've reserved a few shots that I'm posting here, but the majority of the series is already online as a FlickR photo set.
[...]I've just finished a first pass through my shots from Washington, DC on inauguration day. Stay tuned...
' [...]Working through some backlogged photos to process. The past two days in DC have been very productive, and I need to start clearing off hard drive space -- which means deleting images I'm not keeping, which means actually processing again. Hopefully some results will wind up here [...]
From Philadelphia's City Hall Christmas Market. Hopefully it will do well and they'll do it again next year.
[...]Found on the way to the Phillies parade. Me, pointing to camera: You mind? Him: Sure, I ain't hiding from nobody.
[...]Starting to wind down on the Catskills shots. I think one more day, and then we'll move on to Shenandoah. Unless I find something else from the Catskills which I simply can't live without posting.
[...]Yes, we camped here. The 3AM view was fantastic, but I didn't want to rustle through all of my gear to unpack the camera. Lesson learned: camera goes in the bivvy.
[...]Continued shots from the Catskills. I was undecided on this one whether I wanted to leave the mountain behind these trees at the top of the shot or not. Perhaps I'll try it the other way tomorrow and post the results... [update] decided to [...]
Almost exactly the shot I wanted - except that the 5D, occasionally, in low light, genrates some ugly crosstalk noise, and it's visible in the light over the mountains. The one thing I hate about the 5D.
[...]From the Catskills this year, these are the first two shots I've processed. Both are HDRs from an early morning shoot off of Overlook Ledge.
This second shot (of fog in the valley) makes me think of a witch's cauldron.
[...]Jake and Sarah, having fun for the camera. Me, having fun with Photoshop. If I only had a warming filter. ;)
[...]Poor dolphin never makes it back into the water. Alternate title: "Birdbrain." Have a look at the larger version...
[...]Also at Morris Arboretum; Jake and I raced up the big hill. He made it about three-quarters of the way up before we had to take a rest. Which worked out well for me, too...
[...]Brooke, of Dragontown Corsets, wearing one of her creations.
... and I think we'll stop there for the St. Patty's shots. Hopefully I'll get to some other material to post for tomorrow... ?
[...]Seems that my thumbnail generator is generating fuzzy thumbnails for these B&W shots. I'm not sure why, and I'm not bothering to look in to it at the moment. You'll have to go check out the "larger" shots (added just for Kathleen).
Update, 5/29/08: the thumbnail generator was [...]
Welcome to Sheila Week here at JorjDotOrg. I'm clearing my queue of the posts from St. Patty's Day in Jim Thorpe -- which means a bunch of posts of Sheila and co.!
[...]Yes, I've finally started processing shots from Jim Thorpe's St. Patty's Day parade this year. I was only there for an hour, but what an hour it was!
I'll start off with this fairly uninteresting shot and hopefully better stuff will trickle in over the [...]
Yes, it's Penn Relays time again. I'm slowly working my way through the 600 shots I took during my lunch break today. Most of them are panning shot experimentation from various angles in the stands. Stay tuned for more...
[...]Yes, it's been a while. I didn't have a chance to shoot this a second time, or I would have fixed the aperture... but here it is anyway.
[...]It's been a while since I posted, and I have a lot of material to put up here. If I can only find the time to process it all. :)
This is a quick shot from last Thursday's lunar eclipse. I wound up using my compromise lens, a [...]
Also found while not watching the Mummers. This was also right before not wishing our friend JoAnn a happy-day-before-her-birthday.
[...]From the 2007 "Running of the Santas" in Philadelphia.
I thought about taking my 50mm f/1.8 with me, but opted to take the 28-70 f/2.8 instead. Fortunately the 5D was able to rescue me: ISO 3200 and very little noise.
About the title: there's no doubt that these folks, [...]
From the Dec 2007 Philly Photobloggers meetup in Media, PA. A great time was had by all. Pictured here are our prop guy and art director pretending they're not married with kids.
[...]Cleaning out the unprocessed archives (so that I can get to more seasonal pictures): this is from Bristol day a few months back.
[...]Jake, God bless him, is always happy to help daddy set up backdrops and strobes. And then pose, if only for 2 minutes.
And here he is, trying out the boundaries of the "don't throw the ball indoors" rule. I can just see the gears spinning, trying to [...]
Buttermilk Falls, in the Catskills. f/22 and ISO 50... perhaps it's time for me to invest in an ND filter.
[...]Giant Ledge, up in the Catskills. I apparently meant to post this around 10/18, but never got to it. :/
I suspect, but don't quite remember, that this was taken with a 2.0x teleconverter.
[...]If it weren't for the flare, I would be much happier with this shot. As it is, I think it's passable.
[...]Second in the sunrise series from the Catskills. This one is a more standard 16:9 crop, and a slightly different exposure. I prefer yesterday's color and composition, but unfortunately the sun is a bit blown out. Today's is a little more subdued with a better exposure of [...]
Jake's first ballgame: Jake, Tobi and I went to see the Phillies vs. the Mets at Shea Stadium. The Phils won. :)
Shot taken by Tobi, obviously.
[...]We didn't know how Jake would take to a hotel bed, but it worked out great. Except the "stupid parents left stuff in the hotel room" problem.
[...]Clearing out some backlog: another shot from the 15mm fisheye. [...]
Philadelphia Airport's international arrivals terminal. The terminal is designed so that the ceiling is reminiscent of a naval vessel's hull. The shape really accentuates the fisheye effect of the 15mm.
[...]I've been meaning to post this for a while, and just haven't had the time to sit down and process it. Finally, with the long weekend holiday coming, I figured that I'd better do it while I had the time...
[...]From the August 2007 Philly Photobloggers meetup: this shot of Mark was a random happenstance.
